You may be surprised to know that fitness has not always been my life! Once upon a time I was a skincare specialist, make-up artist, and later a stay-at-home mom.
My fitness journey began in my early 20’s when I discovered yoga. My practice was sporadic, but it sparked a love for movement and mind/body connection.
After becoming a mother, it became clear that I would need to change my habits to keep up with my kids and model healthy choices. As someone who has never loved cardio and will do almost anything to avoid it, I discovered strength training and high-intensity conditioning. I quickly fell in love with fitness as my body and life transformed.
In 2012 I became a NASM certified personal trainer and began my career working one-to-one with a broad range of clients in small local gyms.
I founded MBStrength in 2017 and discovered my true passion is working with women, helping them build confidence, strength, and developing skills to create a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. I’ve been fortunate to work with many of my clients as they’ve gone from single professional women to married with children. Being able to help them build strength, achieve goals and work toward new ones, and support them through the pre and postnatal process is such an honor.
My approach to fitness has evolved since my early days as a trainer when my goals centered around weight loss and six-pack abs. Today my philosophy on health and wellness is largely shaped by values I’ve learned through my yoga practice, which you’ll find reflected in my focus on mindfulness, moderation, and self-awareness.
I believe it’s important to build strength physically and mentally as one supports the other. I strive to create an environment where all bodies feel welcome, fitness is fun, and how you feel and move in your body is more important than a number on the scale or tape measure!

When I’m not working with clients or on the yoga mat, I enjoy nurturing my ridiculous collection of indoor plants and container gardening. I also like to spend my time traveling, hiking, reading, kayaking, DIY home improvement, and spending quality time with my kids and friends!
