Summer can be a hectic time! Kids are out of school, everyone is traveling, the days are long, the cookouts are plentiful and your schedule is usually out the window! After Labor Day everything seems to settle back into a normal routine… at least that’s the goal! It can be challenging to fall back into healthy habits after such a long, lazy summer. If this is what you’re currently struggling with, then this challenge is for you!!!!
What is this challenge about?
This is about creating healthy lifestyle habits by focusing on 28 days of accountability. Tracking your diet, water intake, workouts, sleep patterns, and mood can help increase awareness as to what your biggest struggles are. Patterns emerge and allow you to identify the areas that need the most attention. This awareness will allow you to plan ahead and avoid some of your biggest obstacles. This is also a GREAT time to set some personal goals and really push to reach them. Adherence is ideal, but holding yourself accountable, good or bad is the main objective. What will be required of you during this challenge? If you’re all in, be sure to sign up at the bottom of this page. If you are on Facebook you will be added to a private Facebook group along with other fellow challengers. If you are not on Facebook you will receive all of your updates via email. For non Facebook users, you will be sending me daily emails. I will need you to track your food in MyFitnessPal daily and be sure that we are friends and that your privacy settings are set so that I will be able to view your diary! You should complete a minimum of 3 workouts weekly. These can be strength, cardio, or a combination of both. If your goal is to complete more than 3 workouts in a week, AWESOME!!! Get it! However the minimum for the week should be 3. In the group or via email you will be accountable for the following information on a daily basis: Water intake Hours of sleep from the previous night Your workout for the day (if you completed one) Mood Can I set additional goals for myself? OF COURSE! The guidelines that I am setting are the bare minimum. If you have goals that go beyond these guidelines this is a great time and place to hold yourself accountable to your own personal goals! Mindset This is not about perfection! This is about accountability. This is about figuring out what lifestyle habits may be affecting your ability to reach your goals. This is a great time to step back, remove the emotion and self judgement and take an honest look at your habits. I don’t want you to beat yourself up if you your day wasn’t ideal. No on is perfect. I know I'm far from it! This is real life and it's about finding a way to make the healthy choices easier, and still enjoying everything else in moderation. By tracking your progress you will be able to see what your biggest challenges to adherence are; giving you the ability to make adjustments that will help with future success. Together we can learn how to get out of our own way, end the negative self talk, support each other through the process, and build healthy habits for life. Incentive! There will be prizes!!!!! There will be 2 prizes awarded! The first prize will be awarded to the person who is most accountable. Whoever logs in most consistently by completing their food diary and posting in the Facebook group or via email. Having healthy habits will allow you to be the best version of yourself. We are people who are made from what we do. If you ask me, the ones who succeed in life, they are the people who put in the hard work. If you do not even have a healthy habit in work, then you will never be good. Having a healthy habit, especially when it comes to working, raises your chance to succeed exponentially, trust me, I know.
